Street Faire

Street Faire

Everyone is welcome at ASUO’s bi-annual fair, which brings the campus community together in support of food and fun. Proceeds from the fair help to fund food security endeavors for University of Oregon students. By participating, vendors and attendees are helping to ensure that Ducks don’t go hungry.

Upcoming Street Faire

Our 2024 Spring Street Faire is scheduled to occur Wednesday, May 8, through Friday, May 10, 2024. The fair will operate from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day. As in previous years, this event will take place along 13th Avenue in the heart of the UO’s Eugene campus. There will be a different layout to accommodate new city safety regulations. We invite you to become part of an event which will undoubtedly be the highlight of the season for our Duck students, faculty members, and staff.

Join Us!

ASUO’s bi-annual Street Faire is coordinated by students. Student organizers and volunteers gain valuable hands-on experience in event planning, communication, and management.

  • No two fairs are alike—communication standards and selection priorities from one fair may not carry into future fairs.
  • The ASUO Street Faire adheres to state and local regulations related to outdoor activity.
  • Exhibitors and vendors are selected several weeks prior to each fair and are required to pay a participation fee. Application and booth rates may vary from one fair to the next. Nonprofit, university-affiliated, and ASUO-recognized student organizations may participate at a reduced rate. Please refer to our application packet for more information.

Participate as an ASUO-Recognized Student Organization

ASUO-recognized student organizations are encouraged to share information about their club’s mission with the university community by hosting a table. This is also a great opportunity to recruit new members.

Tabling takes place in designated spaces adjacent to the fair, and tables are provided for you. ASUO waives the tabling fee so that ASUO-recognized organizations may participate at no cost. Booth fees are reduced to the equivalent of a nonprofit organization.

Recognized organizations must complete an application before the application deadline.

Volunteer with Us

ASUO Street Faire would not be possible without the assistance of community members. Opportunities for individuals or groups are available before, during, and after each fair. Please reach out directly to asuoevents01@uoregon.edu for information about volunteering at the Spring 2024 ASUO Street Faire.

The Application Process

We wish we could squeeze in every vendor who applies to the Street Faire, but alas, constraints are such that we cannot guarantee every application will be accepted. We value a diverse array of vendors. If we receive more applications than we have space available, will make the difficult decisions about which vendors may participate. As in past years, prior participation as a vendor does not guarantee acceptance.

Tips for Getting In

  • Detailed product descriptions—complete with photos—help our student event managers understand specifically what you plan to sell. It’s important that what you sell is well-suited to the student clientele.
  • We are Oregon. We like unique. Help us understand how your food or wares stand out from other vendors. We may need to limit the number of vendors offering similar wares.
  • Tell us how we can meet your unique needs. If your vehicle cannot be on an incline, if the tongue of your food cart faces a unique direction, if you have accessibility requirements or if your staff have life-threatening allergies to certain foods, we need to be informed. It is very difficult for us to make accommodations for you after you arrive. We cannot guarantee that your special requests will be fulfilled; if they cannot, we will communicate with you.
  • Deadlines are important. We’ve carefully aligned our due dates with our detailed decision-making process. Please ensure your fully completed application and application fee arrive by the deadline. Likewise, if selected, pay your booth fees before the deadline. Only fully completed/paid applications will be considered, and space will be forfeited if booth fees aren’t received by selected applicants before the deadlines.
  • Electronic applications are preferred, though we know that may not be possible for all business owners. PDF or paper applications can be requested via email, telephone, or in person. Completed print applications and application fee can be dropped off in person at our office, located on the ground floor of the Erb Memorial Union, Suite 004. We are generally available 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Monday–Friday.
