The ASUO is known as the Associated Students of the University of Oregon and is a non-profit organization funded by the University of Oregon. Its purpose is to provide for the social, cultural, educational and physical development of its members, and for the advancement of their individual and collective interests both within and without the University. The ASUO is the student government and is run by students for students and works on campus, city, state, and federal-level campaigns. Membership consists of all students at the University of Oregon, Eugene, Oregon, who have paid the current term or semester student incidental fee.

Our executive team is elected by the student body each year and strives to provide representation for all students on campus. They oversee the multiple appointed members (which they appoint) on the ASUO staff ranging from advocates to interns and make sure the office as well as campus operations runs smoothly.

They work closely with all programs, departments and committees on campus including administration to represent the voice of the students.

The ASUO Controllers Office works with all levels of the ASUO to support and guide programs on useage of program funds. The ASUO Controllers assist with keeping records and tracking all program spending. Controllers also assist with the annual budget process and PCM meetings.

The ASUO Student Senate is an 18-member elected body, nine of which are finance senators and nine of which are academic senators. The Senate is responsible for the allocation of the Student Incidental Fee a mandatory fee that every student must pay. This fee is assessed through a year long budget process and must be approved by the Senate, The ASUO Executive and the University President.

The ASUO Programs Finance Committee acts on all matters relating to the allocation of incidental fees to ASUO Programs for the purpose of recommending a budget to the Student Senate. The Committee is composed of three Finance Senators, two members elected at-large by the student body, one appointed by the ASUO President, and one appointed by the ASUO Programs Council. This budgeting process begins in the fall and ends with submission of an ASUO Programs recommended budget to the Student Senate in the spring

The ASUO Athletic Department Finance Committee is a five member body responsible for negotiating a contract with the UO Department of Intercollegiate Athletics for the purchase of student tickets for athletic events. The ADFC presents its budget recommendation to the Student Senate on an annual basis.

Constitution Court is appointed by the ASUO President and confirmed by the Student Senate, which serves as teh Court of Appeals for the ASUO. The Court has the authority to rule on any question arising under the Constitution or any rule promulgated under it. The Court has five members who serve as long as they remain students at the University, two of whom must be 2nd-3rd year law students.
